#365daysafter round table “Year of online broadcasting culture”

Round table with Ukrainian partners of the international art project #365daysafter “Year of online broadcasting culture”

After the first lockdown in 2020, we held a panel discussion with our partners, the Ukrainian-Austrian news agency “The News & Culture” – “Online vs Offline” within the project “Who am I today”. A year of online broadcasting of culture, both Ukrainian and world, has passed. So, what has changed, has the culture become stronger, or is it still in the waiting room?

Project presentation

International art project #365daysafter is a continuation of the online project “Who am I today” by the art organization “MOKONSHU”, which explored the impact of self-isolation on creativity.

This was the first art event in Ukraine, which took place in a specially created virtual gallery for the challenges of lockdown 2020.

Given the growing impact of the pandemic on creative activity, we decided to continue research in this direction and expand our art project, making it international.

In February 2021, we began work on the idea and collaboration with potential partners, as a result, the scope of the study expanded to four countries: Ukraine, Croatia, Portugal and China. The project consists of two parts: life during the Covid-19 pandemic and a look into the future.

With this initiative, we aim to explore the local context of the four countries, combining experiences and creating a database of information material that will serve as motivation / instruction / experience on how to overcome the crisis caused by Covid-19 and deal with the consequences.Covid-19 і боротись з наслідками.

We believe that China’s involvement in the study will make it possible to bridge the gap between Europe and Asia in the search for a common solution in tackling the effects of the pandemic and its impact on artists. Our partners, as well as we, are currently studying the impact of self-isolation on creativity. That’s why we’ve joined forces in a joint study.

The project is created by like-minded people from four countries who have a common goal, namely the study of the impact of the pandemic on creative activity.

Partners:

• “Garaža KAMBA” Art Gallery (Zagreb, Croatia).

• International Artists Residency “DE LICEIRAS 18” (Porto, Portugal).

• Independent Institute of Contemporary Arts “Snarte Space” (Nanchang, China).

• “KAMSOMOL” Creative Agency (Kyiv, Ukraine).

In our opinion, the involvement of an active international art community can unite representatives of creative associations in a common goal and activity for the development of the cultural sphere, both local and global. Today, this is the only way to succeed and overcome difficulties together.
