Photo project “Against the light” – observation in time. Having started a long time ago, it continues to this day. Plants on the windowsill – a topic that is always before your eyes, everything is unchanged, at first glance, but this “unchanged” is infinite difference, if you live by it, of course.
And this is not only the obvious difference, depending on the season, changes in lighting, day, night, folds on the curtains, but also depending on your personal mood, state of mind, circumstances beyond your control.
The forced need to stay in isolation for a long time, especially actualizes this seemingly cozy, light home theme, provokes to give your feelings to the object (flowers on the windowsill), and not vice versa to take impressions from it.
You bring in them associations with your personal, getting used to the object of your attention, to a complete sensory connection with it, bordering on the physical. Something very deep, detached, a kind of wise calm is felt in the flowers behind the curtain. The curtain itself reinforces these feelings, removing the translucent screen documentary. Its “fog” creates the mood of the tonal perspective of the generalized spots and the emotions associated with it, avoiding realistic sentimentality.
The transition from light tonal solutions of the long plan, through the darker ones in the middle, ends this gradation with an applicative black touch to the matter itself.
