The beginning of COVID pandemic brought distress and uncertainty in my life, as well as in the lives of many others. Plans were ruined, art exhibition were continuously shifted, personal communications limited to phone calls and on-line activities.
At the same time, an unexpected seclusion in the house gave a possibility to reshape my plans and concentrate on the art projects , which were long time considered but so far remained unrealized. I like classical music, which provides both inspiration and comfort.
My favorite classical musical pieces supported me in time of uncertainty and inspired to develop my own art project MUSIC in summer-fall 2020.
I worked passionately on this project, and no lockdown could prevent me from doing it.
This painting is a part of my art project MUSIC that offers visual interpretations of the famous classical music pieces. The painting “Spring in Buenos Aires” is created after musical cycle SEASONS IN BUENOS AIRES by Astor Piazzolla. The picture consists of three elements. The lower part is the kingdom of the green forest, whose cheerful voices and fresh breath symbolizes rebirth and new hopes. The chirping of birds, the sound of a woodpecker on the trees- everything is hidden under the green tents of the trees. In the upper part of the painting, there is an image of a thunderstorm with bright flashes of lightning and heavy purple thunderclaps. However, they do not frighten, but delight. A spring thunderstorm will quickly water the earth and stop. Between heaven and earth, a young man and a girl merged in a sensual tango. Passion is born, and possibly love.
