Omnia Voivat

Born 1986 in Vasylkiv, Ukraine. Painting.

During the pandemic my life did not change dramatically. I get used to live with a sense of fear for my family and for myself. But I continue my creative practice, as I did before the pandemic.

“Wounds”, Omnia Voivat, acrylic on canvas, 55x55cm, 2020

It is a self-portrait. The red thread, which bounds the face symbolizes psychological wounds and traumas, creating the effect of cuts.

“Shower”, Omnia Voivat, acrylic on canvas, 50x65cm, 2021

It is a self-portrait. Like all other self-portraits it is a reflection on the world around me. It was interesting for me to depict water, to recreate its texture realistically. By this portrait I wanted to show an inner purity

“Off the Map”, Omnia Voivat, acrylic on canvas, 60x80cm, 2020

The block buildings of the sleeping district are depicted at the work. Despite the fact that these are densely populated high-rise buildings, self-isolation is a commonplace for residents of such areas.
