I started my art practice right during the pandemic.
I am a young artist from Ukraine. I started my art practice right during the pandemic. I am attending different online lectures and courses to explore possibilities of the contemporary art practice. The main insights that I have realized during this period are that many organizations, institutions and people in general even after 1 year of pandemic period still have not yet adapted to the fact that their usual offline life is over.
Recently I took a course at SKVOT online school about the functioning of institutions in the Contemporary Art space. During the course, I clearly understood that I paid money for information that is no longer relevant. Also, as part of the program at the SVC School (School of visual communications), we were preparing an offline exhibition as a diploma project. The exhibition should take place in the school but were not presented due to the strict quarantine in Kyiv during this period. Then I signed up for another course and started learning how to do an online exhibition myself. Because I felt devastated by the fact that I put a lot of energy into my diploma project and could not present it. So, I took an online course at Projector School the name of the course was Creating VR Worlds. This course was very useful since I finally started doing what is relevant to the current situation and has the right direction – Life in virtual space. The result was an online exhibition for my diploma project that could be visited by anyone on the Mozilla Hubs platform https://hubs.mozilla.com/q6ZVRnj/triptych-red
During this period, I realized that modern life without reliance on modern technology is doomed.
This narrative was fundamental for me and was inspired by my diploma work Triptych “Red”, where this concept of importance of digital presence was started to evolve, along with the physical representation, the work was merged in the form of augmented reality and crypto art masterpiece.
