Imagine.. if you wanted to send someone a postcard…not from a physical place..but from your mind or your emotions.. well, this is it.. I made surrealist collage postcards that recreate mental scenery or certain emotions that you want to communicate to someone..or just without many words illustrate what your mind looks like at that very moment.

How this happened? During the pandemic, I had a lot of time to think and work on my art. As a lot of people did. But, what I found out about myself is that one of the most important things to me and my happiness is the mental stimulation. This means that I need to have meaningful conversations with people about various topics, or else I become unhappy.

And how do postcards fit in my pandemic epiphany? Well, most of the journeys I made were inside myselves and my mental spaces rather than to other, physical ones, and while that was not easy, for many people, like for me, I got to know ME better. And in the light of mental stimulation, I would want to send people these Postcards so they know my mental scenery better and therefore perhaps have more meaningful connections 🙂

I recently met a very dear person, but I couldn’t have met them because he is miles away from me, and I can’t travel because of the pandemic. So I sometimes felt like I want to send them a picture of how this longing feels in my head.

What now? is about those times in the past year and a half during the pandemic when we all felt hopeless and didn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. I know a lot of people entered some kind of cabin-fever-fueled existential crisis where they felt like drowning, so this is the depiction in a postcard.

Our cities and lives have become something like a glitch in the matrix..

..all of this in the pandemic happened so quickly and we realized how fragile our ecosystem is and how adaptable we are. All of a sudden, masks and not going out among people has become normal, which is safe, but still we don’t know now what normal actually is. In just a year our whole world was turned upside down.
