The coronavirus pandemic has brought us an existential crisis.
Broken by the situation, we had to accept the new normal. My generation has experienced a crisis like this for the first time. We are fighting an invisible enemy who is giving us new challenges every day.
The pandemic disrupted our plans, our lives, and before that, our lives went on, we were thrown out of our safety zones, we have to react, we have to cope.
I don’t even want to talk about the severity of loneliness that triggered depression in people, ignoring other illnesses like tumors, breaking trust, losing jobs, closing stores, cultural centers, cinemas, museums, theaters.
The artist always creates, he does not stop ! Art must not be stopped by a pandemic!
Throughout this period, I began working on a sequel to the series of works “Manifesto-Reprogramming Artistic Boundaries” that was inspired by writers Aldous Huxley and Orwell. I say 2020 is completely reminiscent of Orwell’s year. And the questions during 2020 follow and bring me back to the novel “Brave New World”.
In my work, I mostly deal with recycling. The works were done on cabinet boards, in the technique of acrylic and acrylic spray. In my works, I often dramatically show two extremes, and currently, under the impression of a pandemic, I mostly deal with the relationship between nature and modern man. I show the two extremes that Huxley shows through the characters “Savage” and “Lenin”. Just as man forcibly returns to nature and also waged wars with it.
