…I personally wasn’t much influenced by pandemic…
Sofya Danilova
As all my artworks were digital in the first place, I personally wasn’t much influenced by pandemic. But I’ve seen what isolation do to other people — my colleagues, family and friends — and therefore felt a need to reflect on this massive shift in collective conscience in my art.

“Inside” is one of the first works that I created during the spring quarantine, and I addressed it to everybody who had had to stay at home on their own with no one around.
Because while we are praised as a “heroes” for maintaining social isolation and not spreading a dangerous virus, at the same time we becoming the worst type of torturer for themselves, isolating while desperately craving for human warmth and attention, assurances that everything will be alright.
And so, the mirror became the biggest anti-hero in our day-to-day life. It is impossible to look into oneself endlessly, and in conditions of isolation, there is nothing more to look at.
